2nd annual Geoff Jenkins Poker Tournament raises more than $65,000 for The Moyer Foundation's Camp Erin™ Bereavement camps

On January 28, we were excited to team up with Jamie Moyer's teammate Geoff Jenkins from the Philadelphia Phillies to host the 2nd Annual Geoff Jenkins Celebrity Poker Tournament at the W Scottsdale in Scottsdale, AZ. More than $65,000 was raised with all proceeds from the event to benefit Camp Erin! More than 200 attendees and 100 players turned out for the event, including over 40 professional athletes and celebrities such as Phillies' Shane Victorino, Cleveland Indians Grady Sizemore, LA Dodger’s Russell Martin and Noah Lowry of the San Francisco Giants.

Camp Erin Expands to Eight New Cities in 2010

The national Camp Erin expansion continues. The Moyer Foundation will open 8 new camp locations in 2010. As many as 2,500 grieving kids and teens will attend Camp Erin in 2010.

Camp Erin Events
The Moyer Foundation and its partners are teaming up in cities nationwide to help raise awareness and funds for Camp Erin and the Campaign for Kids. Events range from small, cultivation gatherings to large community-based fundraising events and activities. These events are opportunities for community leaders, celebrity advocates, corporate executives, individuals, and bereavement experts to come together and learn more about Camp Erin and how to get involved. Together with The Moyer Foundation, many communities across the country are organizing grassroots fundraising events to support their local Camp Erin.

The Moyer Foundation is hosting the 1st Annual National Bereavement Camp Conference on Saturday, June 26 in Cleveland, OH following the NAGC Symposium.

Who Can Attend: Any and all grief professionals currently involved with bereavement camps or those wanting to learn more about bereavement camp best practices.
Mission:
To provide an overall view of bereavement camp structures and best practices across the country by creating a forum of exchange, learning and collaboration through sharing of timely clinical information, programs, advances in research and successful ideas for new or existing bereavement camps.
The program for the day includes:

14th Annual National Alliance for Grieving Children Symposium:
The National Alliance for Grieving Children’s Annual Symposium provides a national forum for those who serve grieving children and families and offers educational resources and networking opportunities in a dynamic, collaborative, and supportive atmosphere.
The 14th Annual National Alliance for Grieving Children’s Symposium will be hosted by Cornerstone of Hope in Cleveland, Ohio and will take place Thursday June 24th - Saturday June 26th, 2010.
