Organization Summary:
The mission of The Moyer Foundation is to help children in distress – physical, emotional and financial.
Position Summary:
To develop and implement Camp Erin "Campaign for Kids" and annual fund plans, in coordination with the Executive Director, Board of Trustees and any committees related to foundation development. To play a major role in securing financial resources to meet The Moyer Foundation's ongoing needs, to expand the organization’s programs and endowments.
Duties and Responsibilities:
To develop and manage The Moyer Foundation's donor development strategy and the annual development program budget. To work closely with and provide leadership to The Moyer Foundation Board of Trustees and appropriate committees; to strengthen the fundraising skills of board, staff and volunteers. Specific fundraising activities may include:
Donor Development Program
Working with the Executive Director and Board of Trustees, to develop and implement The Moyer Foundation’s donor program.
Donor Development – Current and potential donors
To build and sustain The Moyer Foundation’s relationships with its current donors, including one-on-one relationships with individuals/family foundations and creation of events and/or opportunities to connect donors to The Moyer Foundation.
Annual Donor Program – Annual Giving*
To identify, cultivate and solicit annual support from individuals. To track and follow up all potential and actual gifts, evaluate the effectiveness of fundraising initiatives, and ensure gifts are acknowledged in a timely manner.
The Moyer Foundation Endowment*
To develop opportunities for donors to support The Moyer Foundation's current endowment, to fund grant requests and operations
Camp Erin Endowment*
In coordination with "Campaign for Kids," to establish and build a Camp Erin Endowment. To develop opportunities to support the Camp Erin initiative and its operation.
* All elements within the development department may include planned giving/estate planning components.
Foundation Grants
In conjunction with The Moyer Foundation's staff, to identify foundation grant prospects and develop funding proposals for submission. To maintain ongoing tracking of prospects, submissions, awards, and reporting requirements.
Required Qualifications and Skills:
- Minimum six years non-profit fund development experience at a leadership level.
- Knowledge of and commitment to The Moyer Foundation.
- Capital campaign experience
- Proven donor development and retention experience.
- Commitment to developing individual/family gifts through current and new donors and planned giving activities with proven track record of success.
- Experience securing foundation grants.
- Ability to plan 12-24 months in advance and work collaboratively to develop organization-wide fundraising plans.
- Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail.
- Ability to work in a team environment, including with board members, volunteers and staff.
- Excellent communication skills, in both written and oral forms. (Writing samples may be requested.)
The ideal candidate will have proven, senior-level non-profit experience and success, and will bring creative thinking and strategic planning skills to build a strong, diverse fundraising base.
