PHILLIES AND MOYER FOUNDATION TEAM UP
FOR HAITI RELIEF
Items collected and donated by fans at Spring Training delivered to Haiti this week

SEATTLE, WA – The Moyer Foundation (www.MoyerFoundation.org), founded by Philadelphia Phillies’ pitcher Jamie Moyer and his wife, Karen, today announced that the organization held a donation drive, in partnership with the Phillies, during Spring Training last week to collect and deliver much needed supplies for the ongoing relief efforts in Haiti. Numerous fans brought donations to Bright House Field in Clearwater, FL during game days on March 16th, 17th, and 19th.

After the three-day collection drive, the organization received many needed items for Haiti such as clothing, school supplies, toys, dolls, and monetary donations that totaled over $1,700.  The boxes have been shipped directly to The Moyer Foundation's partners on the ground in Haiti.

"We were all devastated by the tragedy in Haiti,” said Karen Moyer, co-founder of The Moyer Foundation. “When nearly 2 million children are affected we all have to do our part. The fans were extremely gracious and compassionate. Together we are making a difference!"

More than two million children have been affected already by this tragedy. In January, The Moyer Foundation created the “Helping Hearts Campaign,” which supported emergency relief efforts specifically targeted to helping child victims of the devastating earthquake in Haiti. The organization pledged to match up to $50,000 in donations, which they accomplished. Through this campaign, the Foundation will contribute more than $100,000 to their partners on the ground, providing ongoing relief efforts in Haiti.
