Childhood Bereavement & The Moyer Foundation’s National Bereavement Resource Guide

 Did you know?

  • The U.S. Census estimates that 1 in 20 children will experience the death of a parent by the time they graduate from high school
  • 1.5 million children under the age of 18 have lost an immediate family member
    • Research indicates these children are at a much greater risk for depression, suicide, poverty and substance abuse
  • Children often feel isolated in their grief but rarely receive formal grief counseling
When dealing with the death of someone important, the search to find necessary counseling and support can be overwhelming. The Moyer Foundation has conducted extensive research on a national level to provide children and families with easy access to bereavement resources in their area. The Moyer Foundation’s National Bereavement Resource Guide lists grief and bereavement organizations by state, including all Camp Erin locations.

If you are an organization that is providing grief or bereavement services to children and families in your community and would like to be included in the National Bereavement Resource Guide, please contact pamela@moyerfoundation.org.
